In a lush valley in Pakistan, community organizations and wildlife advocates are collaborating with a hydroelectric company to conserve the river they all depend on. It is home to one of the largest freshwater fish on earth, the Mahseer, known as the national fish of Pakistan.  

The new scorecard provides an overarching view of the results indicators of the four institutions that make up the World Bank Group, IDA, IBRD, IFC and MIGA. The scorecard tracks progress toward the Group's broader vision to create a world free of poverty on a livable planet.  

More than 100 countries face serious obstacles that could prevent them from becoming high-income countries in the next few decades, shows the World Development Report 2024.  The report identifies what developing economies can do to avoid the “middle-income trap.”
