Jeff Chelsky

Manager, Private Sector Diagnostics Unit

Jeff is currently Manager of Private Sector Diagnostics Unit of the International Finance Corporation. He joined IFC from the World Bank's Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) where he managed the Economic Management and Country Program Unit.  Prior to joining IEG he was Lead Economist in the Macroeconomics, Trade and Investment Global Practice, Manager of the Operations Monitoring and Analysis Unit, and Lead Economist in the Poverty Reduction and Economic Management Network of the World Bank where he coordinated the Bank Group’s relationship with the G20. He came to the Bank in 2008 after serving in various functions at the International Monetary Fund, including as Senior Economist in the Independent Evaluation Office and European Department and Senior Advisor to the IMF Executive Director representing Canada, Ireland and several Caribbean countries.  He has also held various positions in Canada's Departments of Finance and Industry. He has a Master’s degree in economics from Queen's University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto.
