Dilek Aykut is currently a Principal Economist in the Macro and Market Risk Unit at the Economics and Private Sector Development VPU. In this role, she leads efforts on macroeconomic surveillance and economic modeling, international capital flows, and FDI. Prior to joining the IFC, she held various positions at the World Bank, including in the Development Economics Prospects group, where she contributed chapters to the Bank's flagship publications, Global Development Finance and Global Economic Prospects. She also worked in the World Bank's Africa Region operations, engaging in policy dialogue with governments, managing lending operations, and producing diagnostic reports. Dilek holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh and has published research on topics such as the cost of debt, South-South FDI, remittances, and public expenditure.
